JAMMU, Oct 16: In a major administrative reversal, the Jammu and Kashmir Government has announced the revival of the centuries-old ‘Annual Darbar Move,’ confirming the winter shift of the Civil Secretariat and key offices from Srinagar to Jammu after a hiatus of over four years.
As per an order, offices in Srinagar will close on October 31st and November 1st and officially reopen in Jammu on November 3rd, 2025.
The darbar move practice, which was halted in 2021 citing massive costs and the advent of e-office, is being reinstated following a decision by the newly-elected Government.
