RAMBAN, Oct 16: The Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) Ramban, Kuldeep Singh today suspended the Registration Certificates (RCs) of three vehicles involved in bovine smuggling.

A handout stated that RCs of vehicles bearing registration numbers JK19A-3199 (Truck), JK19A-2708 (Dumper) and JK19A-1270 (Bolero Pickup) have been suspended for a period of four months and the Police Department has been asked to seize these vehicles.
This action was initiated following detailed recommendations from SSP Ramban, after repeated violations and registration of FIRs against these vehicles.
The ARTO Ramban stated that the step has been taken to ensure strict enforcement of the Motor Vehicles Act and to curb unlawful activities that pose a threat to public order.
Meanwhile, the ARTO Ramban has also issued show cause notices to the owners of vehicle no. JK19A 1432 (Bolero Pickup) and other several vehicles allegedly involved in bovine smuggling for suspension or cancellation of their RCs and permits.
