36 new dengue cases reported

JAMMU, Oct 18: Thirty-six new dengue cases were reported across the Jammu and Kashmir, taking the total number of infections this year to 2,087.
As many as 158 tests were conducted on October 17. Of the new cases, 22 are males and 9 females, including 5 children and 31 adults. Jammu district reported highest 27 cases, raising its total to 920. Udhampur followed with 4 new cases, taking its cumulative tally to 253. Kathua, Samba and Ramban detected one case. Two cases were also reported Kashmir region.
So far, 19,861 dengue tests have been conducted this year-slightly lower than that recorded during the same period in 2024, whereas the total infections remain significantly lower than last year’s 3,477 cases.
Hospital data shows no new admissions today while nine patients are still under treatment in various hospitals.
Health officials have urged people to remain alert, prevent mosquito breeding, and adopt protective measures such as using repellents and keeping surroundings clean.
