JAMMU, Oct 19: Seventy-five fresh dengue cases were reported across the Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday, taking the total number of infections this year to 2,162.
As many as 398 tests were conducted on October 18. Of the new cases, 39 are males and 36 females, including 10 children and 65 adults. Jammu district reported highest 36 cases, raising its total to 956. Kathua followed with 17 new cases, taking its cumulative tally to 578. Ramban recorded 7 cases while Udhampur and Doda detected four cases each. Reasi, Poonch and Kishtwar also reported 2 cases each while one case was detected in Kashmir region.

So far, 20,259 dengue tests have been conducted this year-slightly lower than that recorded during the same period in 2024, whereas the total infections remain significantly lower than last year’s 3,618 cases.
Hospital data showed four new admissions today while 13 patients are still under treatment in various hospitals.
Health officials have urged people to remain alert, prevent mosquito breeding, and adopt protective measures such as using repellents and keeping surroundings clean.
