*MLA announces funds for community hall

AKHNOOR, Oct 19: A grand function was organized by the Brahmin Sabha Akhnoor under the chairmanship of Sudesh Magotra here today.
The event witnessed the presence of MLA Akhnoor, Mohan Lal, as the chief guest, while Mahant Rameshwar Das Ji Maharaj and DDC Member Pt Suresh Sharma graced the occasion as special guests.
On this occasion, MLA announced a grant of Rs 10 lakh from his CDF fund for the development of the Community Hall located at Parshuram Temple. The Sabha members extended heartfelt gratitude to the MLA for his generous contribution and continued support to the community.
During the event, the new executive team of Brahmin Sabha was also announced. Raman Mishra and Shyam Baral were appointed as senior vice presidents, Vinay Sapolia as vice president, Tara Mani as general secretary, Bishan Sharma and Prateek Mehta as secretaries, Tarsem and Kuldeep Sharma as store incharges, while Prem Sagar and Arvind Sharma were declared as cashiers.
Addressing the gathering, Sabha president Sudesh Magotra thanked MLA Mohan Lal for his constant cooperation and stated that the Sabha will continue to expand its activities across villages and raise issues concerning the Brahmin community.
Vinay Sapolia said that the new team will work towards providing hostel facilities for Brahmin students at Parshuram Temple and promote Jyotish education among youth. He also assured that the Sabha will extend help to any needy person from the community, including financial or administrative assistance. The Sabha will also support the marriages of daughters from underprivileged Brahmin families and take initiatives for temple development and cultural awareness among children.
On this occasion, several teams and individuals were honoured for their outstanding contributions to the society.
Prominent among those present were former president Ashok Shastri, former Sarpanch Ashwani Baral, Thoru Ram Sharma, KD Sharma, Babbu Malhotra, Ballu Takaiya, Dayal Khajuria, Subhash Shastri, Rajinder Sharma, Anil Sharma and others. .
