SAMBA, Oct 19: A Special Police Officer (SPO) was killed after being hit by a speeding truck while on duty at Raya Morh in Samba district on Sunday, officials said.
Officials said that the incident occurred when the SPO was regulating traffic on the Pathankot -Jammu National Highway and was hit by a speedy truck, resulting in fatal injuries.
They said the impact was so severe that the SPO died on the spot. The deceased has been identified as Rahul Singh, resident of Badnai (Nud).
The Police has seized the truck and arrested the driver and helper. A case under relevant sections of the law has also been registered in this matter, officials said.
