Speaking to reporters in Budgam Sharma criticized the NC for consistently going back on promises.
The LOP said that Budgam voters have for long not had alternatives and appealed to them to support the saffron party in the upcoming bypolls, vowing development and accountability.
“Earlier, people lacked alternatives. In the face of Narendra Modi, the people of Kashmir can see hope,” he added.
Sharma lashed out at the NC, specifically the Abdullah family, for making repeated false promises. “Compare the Chief Minister’s pre-poll statements. Yesterday he justified putting meters in his aunt’s home while overlooking poor families. Did he lie yesterday, or is he lying today? People of Budgam can take a step forward to find the truth,” he said.
He pointed out the increasing role of the BJP in the Union Territory. “You must have noticed that there is no village or corner without the BJP. People in each village are embracing the policies of Narendra Modi and the BJP.”
Sharma said the upcoming Assembly session is going to be a short five- to six-day session from October 23. “The people’s aspirations and expectations are debated in the house by elected members, and the government acts accordingly. The opposition BJP will voice the sentiments of backward sections-the poor, youth, farmers, elderly, and women,” he said.
The BJP leader also mentioned Nagrota, where the BJP won by a landslide margin in 2024, which reflects faith to keep the seat. “Even today, the nomination was made on the 18th, which reflects that Nagrota will stay with BJP,” he said.
