NOWSHERA, Oct 22: A giant python (Big snake) was captured in village Rajal area of Nowshera Sub Division of Rajouri district today following an operation that lasted for several hours here on Wednesday.
Official sources said the locals fof the area had alerted the Wildlife Department on Tuesday about the presence of a large python inside a cattle shed in village Rajal tehsil of Nowshera.
A team from Wildlife Department Rajouri rushed to the site and found the reptile snug inside a haystack. It took several hours for the team to safely extricate and capture the snake. It was over 50 kgs in weight and more than 3 meters in length.
This marks the second such capture in Nowshera tehsil in recent weeks. On September 23, the Wildlife department, assisted by police, captured a python weighing nearly 55 kg at Manpur village of Nowshera.
