Govt panels to monitor youth engagement & empowerment plan

JAMMU, Oct 22: Government of Jammu and Kashmir today ordered constitution of Union Territory Level Steering Committee and District Level Committees for ensuring effective monitoring and implementation of the youth engagement and empowerment plan in J&K.
The UT Level Steering Committee, headed by the Administrative Secretary GAD, will monitor overall implementation of the youth engagement and empowerment plan in J&K. It will ensure development of a dedicated online portal for real-time monitoring and reporting, convergence across sectors such as sports, education, culture, tourism industry and skill development for holistic youth engagement.
The committee will facilitate new initiatives such as cultural festivals, youth summits, skill expos, entrepreneurship melas etc and encourage collaboration with private sectors, NGOs, international bodies and community organizations for scalability.
The District Level Committee(s), headed by the concerned Deputy Commissioner, will operationalize the plan at district level, identify and implement district-specific programmes, conduct information campaign, involve PRIs, NGOs and local clubs for maximizing outreach and inclusivity.
It will submit quarterly progress report to the Steering Committee with details of outcomes, success stories and operational challenges with suggestions for improvement.
