Property attached under NDPS Act in Shopian

SRINAGAR, Oct 22: Police today attached a residential property of a local resident involved in multiple drug trafficking cases under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act in Shopian district.
A police spokesperson said that a single-storey residential house valued at Rs. 15,44,523, with a plinth area of 1,258 square feet, situated under Survey No. 498 min at Meemander, Shopian, has been attached.
“The property belongs to Mukhtar Ahmad Naikoo, son of Abdul Majeed Naikoo, a resident of Meemander in Shopian. “Naikoo was involved in multiple NDPS cases, including FIR No. 41/2016 under Section 21 NDPS Act and FIR No. 27/2020 under Sections 8/22 NDPS Act, both registered at Police Station Shopian,” he said.
The attachment proceedings were carried out by a police team in the presence of an Executive Magistrate, Lambardar, and Chowkidar, following all legal formalities, the spokesperson said. “The action reflects the firm resolve of Shopian Police to take stringent measures against drug peddlers and dismantle the drug menace from society,” the spokesperson added.
