SAMBA, Oct 23: Jammu and Kashmir Police today claimed it has foiled a bovine smuggling attempt in Samba district by rescuing three animals from the clutches of the smugglers.
Acting on reliable information, a police party from Police Post Rakh Amb Talli of Police Station Samba rescued three bovines being smuggled by the smugglers by foot near Village Rehian via border, a police official said.
According to him, all the rescued animals have been shifted to a safer place.
Meanwhile, a case FIR number 259/2025 under section 223 BNS and 11 PCA Act has been registered against the unidentified smugglers, who managed to flee, with further investigation taken up.
