POONCH, Oct 23: The district administration Poonch seized illegally dumped material on Surankote – Buffliaz road and imposed Rs 1.5 lakh fine on the accused person.
Official sources said that complaints were being received from this area that illegal mining was going on and some people have dumped river material on road side. The DC Poonch during his last visit also directs SDM Surankote and DMO to enquire and take action on it, following which the action was taken and material was later destroyed. Several people who claimed it were fined Rs 1.5 lakh.
SDM Surankote, Farooq Khan Nazki said that Tehsildar Surankote along with DMO Poonch, SHO Surankote and BRO officials went on spot and and took action. He said administration will keep vigil in the area so that such illegal activity is checked.
