JAMMU, Oct 24: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (NC) leaders and party workers today celebrated the victory of their three candidates out of four Raja Sabha seats, at the party headquarters here this evening.
The jubilant party workers and leaders were seen dancing on the drum- beats at the party headquarters, Residency Road Jammu carrying party flags and distributing sweets to mark the victory of the National Conference. The National Conference won three seats out of four in the Rajya Sabha election in J&K.
The senior party leaders from the Jammu province have extended heartiest greetings and congratulations to the party’s victorious candidates Ch Ramzan, Sajjad Ahmad Kichloo and Shami Oberio in the Rajya Sabha elections today.
In a joint statement issued here, the Provincial leaders led by Rattan Lal Gupta (Provicial head) lauded the success of the NC candidates as a reflection of the people’s faith in the party’s vision, commitment, and long-standing struggle for the political and economic empowerment of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
They said the victory would further strengthen the party’s voice at the national level and reinforce its role in safeguarding the interests and aspirations of the people of J&K.
The leaders also expressed confidence that the newly elected representatives would continue to uphold the ideals and principles of the National Conference, working tirelessly for peace, progress, and equitable development across all regions of Jammu and Kashmir.
They congratulated the party leadership for its guidance and strategic vision, which played a key role in the electoral success, and called upon workers and supporters to continue their collective efforts toward strengthening the NC at the grassroots level.

Meanwhile, former minister and party’s addl general secretary Ajay Sadhotra, today lauded the grand victory of NC in the Rajya Sabha elections, describing it as the triumph of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
In a statement, Sadhotra said the resounding victory in the Rajya Sabha polls is a clear reflection of the principled politics of the National Conference that stands for peace, progress, and dignity of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. “The National Conference has always upheld the highest democratic standards, and party’s victory in the elections is a testimony to our transparent and principled politics,” Sadhotra added.
