UDHAMPUR, Oct 24: Udhampur Police has attached moveable property (vehicle) worth Rs 12 lakhs of a notorious bovine smuggler.
According to Police, a vehicle (Mahindra Bolero Pick-Up) bearing Registration number JK02CL–7472, worth Rs 12 lakhs, belonging to a habitual bovine smuggler Mohd Rasheed Chohan, son of Mohd Shafi Chohan, resident of Hangipora, Anantnag A/P Chapar Dansal, District Jammu, has been attached.
The said vehicle was found involved in case FIR number 163/2025 U/S 223 BNS and 11 Rehambal and has been attached under Section 107(5) BNSS by the order of the Court of Addl Spl Mobile Magistrate, Udhampur.
During the course of investigation, the Investigating Officer conducted a detailed inquiry into the criminal as well as financial background of the accused. The investigation revealed that the offending vehicle had been procured through illegally acquired money. Consequently, the vehicle was identified as proceeds of crime and attached under the relevant provisions of Section 107(5) BNSS.
Cumulatively, this is the sixth vehicle attached by Udhampur Police in such cases, with the total worth reaching Rs 74 lakhs.
