SSP Doda reviews ongoing investigations

DODA, Oct 24: SSP Doda, Sandeep Mehta chaired a comprehensive review meeting at District Police Office (DPO) Doda to assess the progress of ongoing investigations and cases currently under trial.
During the meeting, SSP Doda emphasized revisiting and adhering to directives issued by the Police Headquarters regarding the investigation of UAPA cases. He called for expedited and result-oriented investigations aimed at dismantling the terror ecosystem operating in any form within the district.
Highlighting the need for a more serious and strategic approach, SSP Mehta directed officers to ensure timely filing of chargesheets and the identification and prosecution of all individuals involved in supporting or facilitating terrorist activities.
He further instructed that stringent action be taken against Over-Ground Workers and other support networks, including the seizure of properties belonging to accused persons under relevant legal provisions and the declaration of absconders as proclaimed offenders where applicable.
The SSP also urged supervisory officers to thoroughly review UAPA, NDPS and cases registered under NCL, particularly those falling within the 60/90-day timeline, ensuring that investigations are conducted with sensitivity, precision and adherence to deadlines.
To strengthen the legal follow-up process, Pairvi Cells have been established at multiple levels. Officers have been directed to closely monitor and supervise their functioning to ensure effective coordination and improved conviction outcomes.
The meeting was attended in person by Addl. SP Hqrs Doda Mohd Aslam, Addl. SP Ops Doda Davinder Singh Bhandral, Dy. SP Hqrs Ajay Anand, SDPO Bhaderwah Shoket Ali, Dy. SP DAR Doda Adil Rishu, SDPO Gandoh Raj Kumar, Dy. SP PC Doda Vishal Manhas, SHO Doda and IC PP DH Doda.
All other supervisory officers and investigating officers of all Police Stations and PPs participated virtually.
