JAMMU, Oct 25: Fifty more dengue cases were reported across the Jammu and Kashmir on Friday, taking the total number of infections this year to 2,408.
As many as 287 tests were conducted on October 24. Of the new cases, 33 are males and 17 females, including 5 children and 45 adults. Kathua district reported highest 22 cases, raising its total to 667. Jammu followed with 13 new cases, taking its cumulative tally to 1029. Reasi recorded 4 cases, Udhampur 3, Samba and Rajouri 2 cases each while 1 case each was detected in Doda, Kishtwar and Kashmir Kashmir region. One case was also reported from other States/ UTs.
So far, 21,637 dengue tests have been conducted this year-slightly lower than that recorded during the same period in 2024, whereas the total infections remain significantly lower than last year’s 4,272 cases.
Hospital data shows no new admissions today while five patients are still under treatment in various hospitals.
Health officials have urged people to remain alert, prevent mosquito breeding, and adopt protective measures such as using repellents and keeping surroundings clean.
