HARIDWAR, Oct 25: Patanjali Emergency and Critical Care Hospital was inaugurated here today at Patanjali Yogpeeth in the presence of Swami Ramdev and Acharya Balkrishna.
“This day marks a new chapter in the history of medical science,” Swami Ramdev said adding: “The Hospital in Haridwar is just a beginning as plans for a much larger facility to be established in Delhi-NCR region is also there.”
He informed that this will not be a corporate hospital, but rather a cooperative hospital dedicated solely to the patient care rather than profit.
Swami Ji further stated that Patanjali anticipated a system where modern medical science would be employed only in case of absolutely necessity especially in emergencies.
“This new approach will establish a global standard by carefully combining modern medicine with Ayurveda and natural healing,” he maintained.
Swami Ji also mentioned that the hospital brings together dedicated medical professionals, expert Ayurvedic physicians, skilled modern medical doctors, and proficient naturopaths, all supported by trained paramedical staff and advanced diagnostic technologies.
“The hospital is fully equipped to perform all major surgeries, except for cancer surgeries, which are planned to be introduced soon. It will also carry out complex procedures involving the brain, heart and spine. Advanced diagnostic facilities, including MRI, CT scans, X-rays, ultrasounds and pathological testing, are available and meet international standards of medical excellence and the patients will not face unrealistic hospital pricing or package schemes,” he continued.
Acharya Balkrishna stated that in reality, only about 20 per cent of modern medical science is necessary for effective healthcare.
“If we integrate 80 per cent of traditional medicine systems, we can revolutionise global healthcare within just four to five years,” he said adding: “In most big hospitals, doctors are assigned revenue targets but our target will only be to heal patients.”
He specifically mentioned Dr. Sunil Ahuja for invaluable guidance and expertise in this initiative.
