Patrada residents hold protest against PHE officials over water crisis

Excelsior Correspondent
RAJOURI, Oct 25: The residents of Patrada village today staged a strong protest demonstration against the Public Health Engineering (PHE) Xen Nowshera and AEE Sunderbani, alleging gross negligence and failure to address a massive water crisis persisting in the area for over three months.
The protest, led by Ramesh Chander, Sardari Lal, Ashok Kumar and others, saw a large gathering of villagers demanding immediate restoration of regular water supply.
The protesters alleged that the transformer of the PHE station had been lying defunct for the past three months. Despite repeated requests and complaints, the concerned officers of the Jal Shakti (PHE) Department have failed to repair or replace it, resulting in an acute shortage of drinking water.
They further accused the department of ignoring the hardships faced by the residents, who are compelled to fetch water from distant areas to meet their daily needs.
The villagers warned that if the authorities fail to take prompt action and restore the water supply soon, they would be forced to intensify their agitation in the coming days.
