JAMMU, Oct 26: Theatre group ‘Natrang’ here today staged Hindi Play ‘Shaatir Khiladi’ written by Daya Prakash Sinha and directed by Neeraj Kant.
The play revolves around one ‘Lala Chadami Lal’ who has married for the fourth time as three of his wives have expired. This fourth wife, being much younger in age, makes Lala dance to her tunes.
Lala, who was once a very dominating husband in his youth, now has to tolerate anger and stubbornness of the new wife and he does all round efforts to save his image in the locality.
One day he received heavy scolding and beating from his wife as he was unable to gift her one particular dress which she has demanded. She throws him out of his own home with condition that he could enter only if he brings that dress.
Finally he mortgages his ring to his friend for some money, so that he could buy the desired gift for his wife. This makes his friends laugh at him but as soon as he leaves, their laughter disappears as they came to know that he had given a fake ring in lieu of heavy amount. Thus it was revealed at last that he certainly was an old champion.
