SRINAGAR, Oct 27: The Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly witnessed uproarious scenes on Monday as the controversy over alleged cross-voting in the recent Rajya Sabha elections resurfaced during Question Hour.
Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary stirred a fresh political storm after directly accusing the Bhartiya Janta Party of “stealing four votes” in the Rajya Sabha elections.
“Sarei Raaz Khuul Dunga, remain seated here,” Choudhary remarked, triggering chaos in the House.
BJP legislators hit back, shouting at NC MLA’s While MLA’s hit back with Slogans of “Vote chor, vote chor!” (vote stealers) toward the BJP MLA’s.
Amid the din, Peoples Conference President Sajad Gani Lone alleged that both parties were complicit, saying, “It was match-fixing between NC and BJP.” (KNC)
