SRINAGAR, Oct 27: Police today arrested two men for allegedly engaged in the gambling activity in Tangmarg area of Baramulla district.
A spokesperson said that acting on credible information, a police team from Tangmarg Police Station carried out a swift raid at Shrai Nallah near Government School, where the duo was found gambling. “They have been identified as Mudasir Ahmad Malla, son of Ayaz Ahmad Malla, a resident of Kunzer Ward No. 6, and Zahoor Ahmad Reshi, son of Ghulam. Mohammad Reshi, a resident of Pariswani, Kunzer,” the spokesperson said.
During the search, police recovered playing cards and cash amounting to Rs. 4,200 from their possession. “Accordingly, a case FIR No. 78/2025 has been registered under Section 13 of the Gambling Act at Police Station Tangmarg.
