RAJOURI, Oct 28: The police foiled two separate smuggling attempts and seized two vehicles loaded with 18 bovine animals in Nowshera area today.
Official sources said that during Naka at Thalka, a police team from Police Station Nowshera, led by SHO Nowshera Inspector Arjun Magotra under the close supervision of SDPO Nowshera Sahil Mahajan, intercepted a dumper, bearing registration number JK11E-2915. On checking, the vehicle was found illegally transporting 16 bovine animals without any valid permission.
The driver, Mohd Tazeem, son of Mohd Farooq, resident of Chatyar, Rajouri, was arrested on the spot. In this regard, FIR No. 158/2025 U/S 223 BNS, 184 MV Act, 50, 52, 54, 56 Transportation of Animals Rules & 11 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Nowshera, and investigation initiated.
Later in the evening, the same naka party intercepted a Tata Mobile vehicle (JK11E-7563) carrying two bovine animals illegally. The driver, Ayaz Khan, son of Sawar Hussain, resident of Kakora, Manjakote, along with his associates Yasir Abbas, son of Abdul Majid and Ghulam Mushtafa, son of Badar Hussain, both residents of Hayatpur, Manjakote, were arrested. A separate case FIR No. 160/2025 U/S 223 BNS & 11 PCA Act has been registered in this regard.
