JAMMU, Oct 28: Jammu & Kashmir delivered a stunning performance in the U-23 CK Nayudu Trophy at the JKCA Hostel Ground, defeating Meghalaya by a massive 131 runs, thanks to a brilliant spin attack led by Vishal Kumar, Sarvashish Singh and Praful Dhar. Tasked with chasing a challenging target of 292 on a spin-friendly pitch, Meghalaya initially showed promise, reaching 85 for 2 in the first 16 overs. However, J&K’s spinners staged a masterclass, triggering a dramatic collapse and bowling out the visitors for just 161 runs.
Vishal Kumar was the star of the day, claiming 5 wickets for 34 runs in 13.1 overs. Sarvashish Singh complemented him superbly with 3 wickets, while Praful Dhar chipped in with 2 crucial scalps. Meghalaya’s MD Ashif Khan (34), Avinash Rai (24), Manish (17), and Sachin (14) offered brief resistance, but it was the relentless spin trio that dominated proceedings.
