JAMMU, Oct 28: President All J&K Panchayat Conference (AJKPC) and Independent candidate from Nagrota constituency, Anil Sharma here today continued his campaign trail and visited several villages and Panchayats like Chilla, Sagon and Surinsar.
He interacted with youth, women and senior citizens to understand the local employment issue, health challenges and lack of basic infrastructure.
Sharma also listened the day-to-day issues faced by the people and emphasized that development must reach the last village and the governance should be about ‘presence’, ‘not promises’.
“Residents of these areas have been ignored for years by their former representatives who only appeared during elections and vanished away afterwards,” he claimed.
The Independent candidate called Saruinsar as one of the most beautiful yet ignored tourist destinations near Jammu.
He assured that if given the opportunity to serve as a public representative, he would work to improve health and education facilities and promised to establish a Sub-District Hospital at Saruinsar to cater the health and medical needs of the people.
He further said that he has always raised his voice for electing a local candidate as the true representative of the people because the “parachute candidates” who appear from outside just before elections cannot understand the pain or needs of local people.
Sharma reiterated his opposition to prepaid electricity meters and said that the people of J&K have the first right over the power generated in their own land.
He appealed to the voters of Nagrota to support his mission for a fair, transparent and developed future for all and urged young voters to participate actively in shaping a responsive and people-centric Government.
