FICCI FLO launches cancer screening drive for sanitation workers

JAMMU, Oct 29: A health campaign under the banner “Let’s Paint Jammu Pink – Together for Her” was launched by FICCI FLO Jammu, Kashmir & Ladakh Chapter, in collaboration with SMVD Narayana Superspeciality Hospital and the Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), here today.
The initiative began with a comprehensive cancer screening camp for JMC sanitation workers, offering free PSA tests, Pap smears and mammography screenings.
A 20% healthcare discount card for sanitation workers was also launched, applicable at both SMVD Narayana Superspeciality Hospital, Kakryal and SMVD Multi-Speciality Clinic, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu.
The campaign also targets 1,000 mammography screenings for underprivileged women by 31st March 2026.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Devansh Yadav, Commissioner, JMC, said, “Sanitation workers are the backbone of our city. Prioritizing their health reflects true inclusivity. I commend FICCI FLO JKL and SMVD Narayana Hospital for this noble collaboration.”
Arti Choudhary, Chairperson, FICCI FLO JKL, stated, “Painting Jammu pink is not just symbolic, it’s a movement for awareness, access and empowerment. Every woman deserves timely screening and care.”
The campaign will continue with outreach activities, awareness drives and special screening camps across Jammu to promote women’s health and cancer prevention.
