J&K Police celebrates ‘Rashtriya Ekta Diwas-2025’

JAMMU, Oct 29: In connection with the celebration of 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India, J&K Police here today organized a series of programmes across different districts of Jammu Zone under the theme ‘Rashtriya Ekta Diwas- Unity and Integrity.’
Ramban Police organized a debate at Government High School Chanderkote on theme ‘Sardar Patel-The Unsung Architect of Modern India’ in which over 200 students and staff of schools participated. The event was attended by Additional SP Ramban, Mujeeb-ur-Rehman, SHO Ramban and the headmaster. A seminar on national security was also held at GDC Banihal.
Debate competitions were held at Government Middle School Karlah, Bishnah and Rising Star Public School, Nagrota wherein the students expressed patriotic zeal and reflected on the values of unity and integration championed by Sardar Patel.
At Government Girls High School, Bani, students took part in debate on ‘Rashtriya Ekta Diwas-Unity in Diversity.’ The competition was judged by a panel of teachers led by Headmaster Jagat Ram. Prizes were distributed among participants. Parallel awareness programmes were also organized under the supervision of Dy.SP Hqrs Kathua, Dy.SP DAR, SHO Hiranagar, and I/C Police Posts Basantgarh and Nagri.
Samba Police organized multiple symposiums and debates across the district on topics such as ‘Achievements of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’, ‘National Security’ and ‘Role of Youth in National Integration.’ The events were held at Police Stations Vijaypur, Ramgarh, Ghagwal, Samba, Bari Brahmana and Purmandal, highlighting Patel’s vision of a united and progressive India.
Reasi Police organized a seminar on ‘Role of Police in Nation Building’ at Government Boys Higher Secondary School Reasi and another event was held on ‘Cultural Integration-Celebrating India’s Unity in Diversity’ at Nature’s Lap International High School, Pouni. Parallel programmes were also held at Police Stations Ransoo, Katra, Bhawan, Arnas, Mahore and Chassana, where officers inspired the youth to emulate Sardar Patel’s spirit of national integration.
Udhampur Police organised an awareness programme at SCTM Government Model Girls Higher Secondary School focusing on women’s safety, cyber awareness, prohibition of child marriage and drug abuse. Students were motivated to uphold values of equality and harmony envisioned by Sardar Patel.
Meanwhile, Dy.SP (Hqrs) Kishtwar conducted a seminar on National Integrity at DIET Kishtwar, where participants took unity pledge reaffirming their commitment to national unity and strong Police-Public relations.
Similarly Doda Police organised a debate on ‘National Integration-Importance and Challenges’ at Model Higher Secondary School Doda with active participation of students.
In Rajouri, a debate competition on ‘National Integration-Importance and Challenges’ was held at Government Higher Secondary School Kalakote which was attended by SDPO Kalakote, SHO Kalakote and teaching staff.
Poonch Police organized multiple awareness and cultural events across the district focusing on Sardar Patel’s contributions to national unity and inspiring patriotic values among youth.
The week-long events will culminate on October 31, 2025.
