NC leader slams traffic police, alleges corruption and misconduct

JAMMU, Oct 29: The National Conference, senior party leader Rajesh Gupta today launched a sharp attack on the Jammu Traffic Police, accusing the department of “complete failure, selective policing and institutionalised corruption” in managing traffic in the city.
Addressing to the media persons, Gupta alleged that the traffic police “only target two-wheeler riders while ignoring mini buses, which are the main cause of traffic congestion.”
He claimed that “monthly entry money from mini bus operators goes to higher-ups in the traffic police hierarchy.”
Referring to a viral video showing a traffic Sub-Inspector slapping a biker, Gupta said the act “disgraced the uniform and exposed arrogance within the force.”
He further accused officers of routinely “slapping, pushing and humiliating” motorists and questioned the silence of the administration.
