J&K Bank surpasses target under Mission YUVA, disburses 1,250 cases in one day

SRINAGAR, Oct 30: J&K Bank today observed “Mission YUVA Disbursal Day” across Jammu and Kashmir to speed up the release of loans under the Government’s youth empowerment scheme.
The Bank disbursed 1,250 cases in a single day, surpassing its target of 1,000.
The symbolic button to mark the completion of the day’s drive was pressed by the Bank’s MD and CEO, Amitava Chatterjee, in the presence of senior officials at the Corporate Headquarters in Srinagar.
Senior officers, divisional heads, and zonal heads from across the UT joined the event in person and virtually.
MD and CEO Amitava Chatterjee congratulated the operational and frontline teams for achieving the target and reaffirmed the Bank’s commitment to supporting the Government’s vision of youth empowerment through self-employment.
He said that J&K Bank has been playing a key role in implementing Mission YUVA and ensuring quick disbursement of sanctioned cases to help beneficiaries start their ventures.
He also stressed the importance of maintaining a strong monitoring system to ensure that each sanctioned case turns into a sustainable livelihood opportunity.
“We must ensure that the broader vision of the government behind this initiative is realized on the ground,” he added.
So far, the Bank has sanctioned around 8,000 cases under Mission YUVA, reflecting its continued efforts to promote entrepreneurship among youth.
As part of the special drive, all branches reached out to beneficiaries to complete pre-disbursement formalities, while zonal heads supervised the progress to ensure smooth and timely credit flow.
