J&K Fencing team selected for 36th Senior National C’ship

JAMMU, Oct 30: The Jammu & Kashmir Fencing Association (JKFA) concluded selection trials at JU Fencing Academy to finalize the team for the 36th Senior Men and Women National Fencing Championship 2025-26, scheduled in Delhi from November 15 to 19. Fencers from various districts including Jammu, Doda, Poonch, Ramban, Kathua and Reasi participated in the trials. The event was supervised by Adv. Supriya Chouhan, Secretary General, JKFA, and conducted by a technical committee comprising Bheesham Slathia, Javed Choudhary, Mohd. Tariq, Ajay Khartol and Rashid Ahmed Choudhary, International Referee.
The selected players are below. For the Men’s Epee, Sufyan Wahid Sohil (Ramban), Shivansh Kapoor (Jammu), Ajay Kumar (Reasi) and Said Ur Rehman (Ramban) have been selected, with Sayam Sharma (Jammu) as standby. In Men’s Foil, the chosen players are Ram Paul (Udhampur), Aadhar Khajuria (Jammu), Sajad Hussain (J&K Police) and Tanmay Gupta (Jammu), with Rakshit Sharma (Jammu) as standby. The Men’s Sabre team includes Vishal Thapar (Jammu), Harshit Kohli (Jammu), Mayank Sharma (Kathua) and Sagar Sahi (Jammu), while Udhayveer Singh (Kathua) will be standby.
For the Women’s Epee, Twinkle Gupta (Jammu), Samreen Rafiq (Poonch), Tabassum Anjum (Kathua), and Pihul Rajput (Jammu) have been selected, with Roshani Devi (Reasi) as standby. In Women’s Foil, the team comprises Riya Bakshi (Jammu), Sanwari Rajput (Jammu), Mansi Sharma (Jammu), and Vanshika Sharma (Jammu), with Nancy Kotwal (Doda) as standby. The Women’s Sabre team includes Shreya Gupta (Jammu), Rishika Khajuria (Kathua), Kritarthi Kotwal (Doda) and Ashu Rani (Jammu), while Chhavi Sharma (Jammu) will be standby.
