VP Radhakrishnan, CM Yogi inaugurate Rs 60 cr Dharamshala strengthening Kashi-Tamil Nadu ties

VARANASI, Oct 31: Vice President C P Radhakrishnan today said that religion may face a temporary crisis, but it cannot be permanent.

“This Dharamshala building is a testimony to this. It has faced so many crises, but ultimately, religion has triumphed,” he said while inaugurating a Dharamshala built by the Sri Kashi Nattukottai Nagar Satram Management Society here.

Vice President said, “I came to Kashi about twenty-five years ago. I was a non-vegetarian then. In 2000, I became a vegetarian. After bathing in the Ganges here, I became a vegetarian. This transformation took place in Kashi itself.”

“Then I came to Kashi in 2014 to campaign for Prime Minister Narendra Modi. At that time, I spoke to people in Hindi. I appealed for their votes. I hoped that a major change was about to take place in Kashi. There is a vast difference between the Kashi I saw twenty-five years ago and the Kashi of today,” he said.

He added, “How was this seemingly impossible task accomplished?  This was possible because of the Karmayogis.”

“The transformation of Kashi and the development of the country happened because of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. From this, we can understand that nothing is impossible if one remains persistent and makes continuous efforts,” he highlighted.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, on the occasion said that just like the Ganga and Kaveri, Kashi and Tamil Nadu share a heart-to-heart connection, despite linguistic differences.

He further said that Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan, on his first visit to Uttar Pradesh, has visited the city of Baba Vishwanath.

“A dharamshala built by the Sri Kashi Nattukottai Nagar Satram Management Society has been inaugurated. This dharamshala will further strengthen the ancient ties between Kashi and Tamil Nadu. The Rameshwaram Jyotirlinga established by Lord Shri Ram and the Kashi Vishwanath Jyotirlinga located in Kashi complement each other and represent the wonderful essence of North and South,” he said.

CM Yogi said, “This connection, forged through Lord Shri Ram and Shiva, was furthered by Adi Shankaracharya. Kashi gave enlightenment to Shankaracharya, and he gave enlightenment to the country.”

Vice President C.P.  Radhakrishnan and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated a dharamshala built at Rs 60 crore by the Sri Kashi Nattukottai Nagar Satram Management Society.

Another new chapter in history has been added to the relationship between South India and Kashi. The ten-story dharamshala has been built by the Sri Kashi Nattukottai Nagar Satram Management Society with a spirit of service to Kashi.
