JAMMU, Nov 1: Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Jammu, Vivek Kumar today carried out a comprehensive inspection of the Jammu-Katra rail section to assess operational preparedness and infrastructure strength ahead of harsh weather conditions.
The inspection covered key installations along the 80-km stretch, including railway tracks, tunnels, bridges, signaling systems and station infrastructure.
Stations at Bajalta, Sangar, Manwal and Shaheed Captain Tushar Mahajan were inspected in detail, with special focus on improving passenger amenities and ensuring operational efficiency.
Passenger facilities, platform conditions, structural safety of flyovers and advanced safety mechanisms were thoroughly reviewed.
The team also examined the structural stability of tunnels and bridges and evaluated the condition of railway tracks to ensure seamless and safe train operations.
Speaking on the occasion, DRM Vivek Kumar said, “Passenger safety is our top priority. This comprehensive inspection drive is part of our regular exercise to ensure the strength and reliability of our infrastructure.”
“The inspection aims to guarantee safe and uninterrupted rail services during the upcoming winter season,” he added.
The visit reaffirmed the Railways’ commitment to strengthening operational capabilities and enhancing passenger experience on the vital Jammu-Katra route, which witnesses significant passenger movement throughout the year.
Additional Divisional Manager, Akshay Kumar Marantu, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Uchit Singhal, Senior Divisional Operations Manager, Arish Bansal and other senior divisional officials accompanied the DRM during the inspection.
