RAMBAN, Nov 3: The Block Medical Officer (BMO) Ukhral here today withheld the salaries of three doctors posted at Primary Health Centre (PHC) Khari and sought explanation from them within two days over their unauthorized absence from the duty.
An official communiqué by BMO Ukhral in this regard stated that the concerned Medical Officers, Dr. Waseem Raja, Dr. Showkat Ahmed and Dr. Sameer Ahmed, have been directed to explain their position and report to duty immediately.
Sources informed that the action was initiated following a complaint from local residents of Khari during a gathering at PHC Khari on Monday as the doctors were absent from their duties when the injured persons of an accident case were brought to the hospital.
Taking a serious note of the complaint, BMO Ukhral, Dr. Ab. Rehman sought explanation from the three doctors and ordered that their salaries of for the month of October 2025, shall remain withheld pending clarification.
