KATHUA, Nov 13: MLA Dr Bharat Bhushan today released one crore rupees from his Constituency Development Fund (CDF) for the development of infrastructure in the floods affected areas of the Kathua constituency.
It is pertinent to mention here that cloud burst resultant floods and landslides resulted in massive destruction of roads, lanes, drains and other infrastructure disrupting drinking water and power supplies besides claiming many precious lives.
Many houses were either fully or partially damaged.
The MLA handed over the authorization letter to Deputy Commissioner Kathua Rajesh Sharma today in the presence of Additional District Development Commissioner Surinder Mohan Sharma.
The other sectoral officers were also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Bharat Bhushan elaborated that one lakh rupee each has been authorised in favour of those families whose houses were fully damaged.
“Fifty thousand per family has been authorised in respect of twelve partially damaged houses,” he said and added, “The provision of Solar lights, desilting and operationalization of wells to augment drinking water supply in affected areas and clearance of debris from houses of Jamalpur and Parala villages has been authorised.”
Besides other restoration works of roads, protection works, lanes and drains have been authorised to build damaged infrastructure in the constituency.
