JAMMU, Nov 17: Female Multipurpose Health Workers (FMPHWs) across all block headquarters in Jammu and Kashmir organized a protest today under the banner of J&K Medical Employees Federation (JKMEF), Jammu province.
The demonstration was held to highlight the issue of non-payment of their salaries for the past four months. These FMPHWs are permanent staff members of the Health Department yet they are without salaries for months together due to which they are facing to severe hardships.
President of FMPHWs Association, Neelam Kumari, appealed to the Health minister Sakina Itoo to immediately release the pending salaries of the affected health employees. She emphasized that if their demands are not met promptly, the employees will be compelled to initiate indefinite strike in near future.
All the protesting employees urged the authorities to address this urgent matter and ensure timely release of salaries to all Health Department employees.
Those who attended the protest include Neelam Kumari, Anita Bhagat, Sapna Gupta, Kamlesh, Surya, Rani Devi, Anita, Arti, Bimla, Polly Devi, Ritu, Shilpy and several others.
