Antarjeet conferred 2nd Gurmukh Singh Raina Fiction Book Award

JAMMU, Nov 18: Punjabi Lekhak Sabha (PLS) here today organized an award ceremony to confer 2nd Gurmukh Singh Raina Memorial Fiction Book Award- 2024-25 to Antarjeet Kour, well known Punjabi writer from J&K for her debut fiction work in Punjabi ‘Meri Manzil Mera Pyaar’.
Dr. Monojit, prominent Punjabi satire writer was chief guest on this occasion whereas Shailender Singh, SSP Railways was special guest.
Dr. Arvinder Singh, former Additional Secretary, J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, Jammu presided over the function. Fiction writers Anterjeet and Surinder Neer shared the dais.
Welcome address was delivered by Dr. Baljit Raina. He informed that the first Gurmukh Singh Raina Memorial New Fiction Writer Award was given to Jang S. Verman for his first collection of stories. This is the second award under this scheme. The award carries a cash prize of Rs. 11000, a shawl, a citation and a memento.
It may be mentioned here that S. Gurmukh Singh Raina has contributed twelve books in various genres of Punjabi literature.
Renowned writer, artist and cultural journalist Jang Verman gave a brief introduction of Anterjeet Kour, with her rise and contribution in the field of Punjabi fiction. A paper on the released Punjabi fiction book, ‘Meri Manzil Mera Pyaar’ written by Anterjeet Kour, was presented by Charanjit Singh, a University of Jammu scholar.
Dr. Arvinder Singh Amn said that Anterjeet Kour deserved this award for her contribution in the field of Punjabi fiction.
Proceedings of the programme were conducted by renowned fiction writer Surinder Neer who also extended the vote of thanks.
