SAMBA, Nov 26: Samba police has worked out a cattle theft case registered at Police Station (PS) Samba within 24 hours, arrested four persons in this regard and recovered four stolen cattle.
Police said on Tuesday , a written complaint was lodged at Police Post (PP) Rakh Amb Talli of PS Samba by a person namely Jagtar Singh, son of Bara Singh of Sordi, Pangdour district Samba regarding theft of four bovines from his house during the intervening night of 24/25-11-2025 by some unknown miscreants.
Acting over the complaint, a case FIR No. 289/2025 U/S 331(4)/305(a) BNS was registered at Police Station (PS) Samba and investigation started, police said.
Taking prompt action into the matter, SSP Samba constituted a special team headed by in charge PP, Rakh Amb Talli assisted by in charge BPP Pangdour under the supervision of SHO PS Samba and DySP DAR, Samba to work out the theft case.
During the course of investigation, police team after sustained efforts along with technical assistance, arrested four accused persons involved in the theft from Bari Brahmana (district Samba), Bishnah and Domana area of district Jammu and recovered all the four stolen bovines from their possession.
Police said the arrested persons have been identified as Mohammad Rakhman @Anu, son of Ibrahim of Kothey Sainian tehsil Bishnah district Jammu, Ramjan Mohammad, son of Meenu of Dhraman, tehsil Basholi district Kathua, at present Raipur Domana, district Jammu, Abu Bilal, son of Mohammad Yusuf of Mathola Bhaderwah district Doda at present Tanda Burj tehsil and district Samba and Jhan Mohammad, son of Fathey Ali of Jhakhar Shivnagar tehsil and district Udhampur at present Bari Brahmana district Samba.
Further investigation of the case is going on, police said.
