JAMMU, Dec 1: An impactful awareness programme on Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) organized by the convener BBBP, J&K Unit, Ritika Trehan at Government Middle School Kachi Chawni, was held here today.
The programme was organized along with Co-Convenor Indu Puri, was aimed to promote the importance of girls’ education and empowerment and was attended by School Principal Nisha Sharma, teachers and students.
Speaking on the occasion, Ritika Trehan emphasized the need for collective efforts to promote girls’ education and empowerment.
She highlighted the importance of changing mindsets and encouraging parents to send their daughters to school, ensuring their education and overall development.
Ritika further said that the initiative has led to the launch of programmes like “Super 30,” offering free IAS/JKAS coaching to 30 meritorious female candidates in Rajouri, promoting women’s participation in governance and administration.
“While the BBBP initiative has made strides in promoting girls’ education and empowerment in J&K, sustained efforts are necessary to address the existing challenges and ensure the scheme’s success,” she said.
Indu Puri, Co-Convenor, urged the students to pursue their dreams and ambitions, emphasizing the role of education in shaping their futures.
She also stressed the need for women’s empowerment and encouraged girls to be confident and assertive.
Principal Nisha Sharma expressed her gratitude to Ritika Trehan and Indu Puri for organizing the awareness programme, highlighting the school’s commitment to promoting girls’ education and empowerment.
The programme concluded with a pledge to work collectively towards promoting girls’ education and empowerment.
