Cyber Cell recovers Rs 3.21 lakh in fraud cases

POONCH, Dec 1: Cyber Cell of Police in Poonch recovered Rs 3,21,702 in various online/offline cyber financial fraud complaints during last month as reported by the public.
A police official said that multiple victims approached the Cyber Police Station Poonch with complaints involving UPI frauds, social media scams, online marketplace cheating, fake loan applications, OTP misuse, and fraudulent investment schemes. Acting swiftly, the Cyber team froze suspicious transactions in real-time, coordinated with banks and financial intermediaries, and traced digital footprints to ensure timely recovery of defrauded amounts.
District Police Poonch has urged the citizens to stay vigilant, avoid sharing personal/financial details, ignore unknown links or messages, and immediately report any suspicious online activity.
For reporting cyber crime incidents, the public may contact the Cyber Police Station Poonch directly or use the National Cybercrime Reporting Portal www.cybercrime.gov.in and the dedicated Helpline 1930 for quicker intervention, the official said.
