JAMMU, Dec 1: MLA Nagrota, Devyani Rana, said that the timely intervention of the Central BJP leadership and the Union Railway Ministry led to the restoration of DMU 74907 and 74906, which had remained suspended for a considerable period and have now been resumed for public service.
Rana stated that the Union Railway Ministry promptly responded to the concerns repeatedly raised by the people of the Nagrota Assembly Constituency, ensuring that the long-pending issue was addressed without delay. She noted that the resumption of these services revives a critical commuting link for thousands of daily passengers, including students, traders, and office-goers whose routines and livelihoods depend on reliable rail connectivity.
She further said that the restoration of DMU 74907 and 74906 will significantly improve mobility across several panchayats and villages, reduce travel time, and enhance daily convenience for residents who rely heavily on rail transport for essential travel, education, and work. Rana reiterated her commitment to pursuing development-oriented initiatives that directly address public needs and contribute to the constituency’s overall growth.
The MLA mentioned that the revival of the train service was among the major concerns brought forward by people during her election campaign, who had urged her to take up the matter on priority with the concerned authorities. “The decision to restore this long-pending public requirement has brought notable relief to the people of Nagrota,” she said, highlighting the importance of addressing genuine local demands.
Rana added that the swift action reflects the BJP’s focus on strengthening regional connectivity and addressing grievances with responsiveness, sensitivity, and efficiency.
