JAMMU, Dec 1: The 59th Indian Orthodontic Conference, held from November 28 to 30 in Visakhapatnam, witnessed notable academic contributions from Dr Abhimanyu Rohmetra, Consultant Orthodontist and Associate Professor, Department of Orthodontics, IDS Sehora, Jammu, who also serves as vice-president of IDA Jammu.
Dr Rohmetra delivered a well-received lecture titled “While They Sleep: How Orthodontists Can Change the Way Patients Breathe,” highlighting the rising relevance of airway-centric orthodontics and its influence on sleep-related breathing issues. His talk emphasized how orthodontic interventions can significantly improve airway health and overall patient well-being.
Strengthening his continued leadership in academic platforms, Dr Rohmetra chaired a scientific session at the conference for the third consecutive year, reaffirming his role as a consistent contributor to professional advancement in the field.
Further showcasing his research acumen, he presented a paper titled “To determine the effect of material fatigue of aligners in oral environment and to describe and quantify the type and amount of Orthodontic Tooth Movement produced by ALIGNERS.” The study offered valuable insights into aligner durability, performance, and treatment predictability – areas that are becoming increasingly pivotal with the growing adoption of clear aligner therapy.
