JAMMU, Dec 1: Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Ghagwal KS Bali today conducted public grievance redressal camps at the border villages of Regal and Manguchak in Tehsil Rajpura.
A statement said during the camps, people raised a range of issues related to road connectivity, basic amenities and public services.
There, the SDM Ghagwal issued on-spot directions to the concerned departments for timely action and asked officials to ensure that all genuine demands are resolved within fixed timelines.
He underlined that grievance camps help bridge the gap between administration and people by providing a platform for direct communication.
He stressed the need for greater accountability in service delivery and told officers to regularly monitor works in their respective sectors.
Officers from various line departments remained present and responded to issues related to their fields.
During the visit, the SDM also held detailed discussions with villagers living close to the International Border (IB) regarding the preparation of a comprehensive development plan under the Vibrant Villages Programme-II (VVP-II).
The deliberations focused on improving infrastructure, enhancing livelihood options and upgrading essential facilities in these border areas.
He said the administration aims to shape a plan that reflects local needs and supports long-term, sustainable development.
Tehsildar Rajpura and BDO Rajpura accompanied the SDM during the tour.
