CUJ organizes Inter-Collegiate Football (Men) Tourney

JAMMU, Dec 2: The Cluster University of Jammu organized an Inter-Collegiate Football (Men) Tournament at the GGM Science College Football Ground, drawing enthusiastic participation from several constituent colleges and creating a vibrant sporting atmosphere across the campus.
The event was inaugurated by Prof. Romesh Kumar Gupta, Principal, GGM Science College, who served as the chief guest. He appreciated the initiative of University and emphasized the vital role of sports in developing students’ personalities.
Guest of honour, Dr. Vinod Bakshi, Director, Physical Education and Sports, underscored the importance of co-curricular activities in promoting holistic growth. Dr. Bakshi applauded the enthusiasm of the players and advised them to balance academics with athletics. The first match, scheduled between Govt MAM College and Govt College of Education, resulted in a walkover in favour of MAM College after the opponent team failed to report.
The second match witnessed intense competition between GGM Science College and Govt SPMR College of Commerce. After a goalless draw in regular and extra time, GGM Science College won by 3–2 in a tie-breaker, with goals from Mohit, Abbass and Parth Raina, while Rohan and Vansh scored for SPMR College of Commerce.
The tournament was supported by Dr. Davinder K. Sharma, Ravi, and match officials Gagan Kumar, Aman Sudan, Kartik Sharma, Abhishek Chandan and Lalit Jamwal, ensuring its smooth and fair conduct.
