JAMMU, Dec 3: J&K BJP Spokesperson and Convener, International Affairs, Gaurav Gupta, today launched a sharp condemnation of Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy over his remarks on Hindu deities.
“Revanth Reddy should straightaway declare the Congress party as the ‘Muslim League Congress Party’. The Congress has launched a systematic campaign against Hindus. Anyone who makes such remarks neither believes in India’s Constitution nor respects India’s culture. Their mindset mirrors that of the Mughal invaders,” Gupta said.
He added, “Insulting Hindus and their deities has become a habit for the Congress and its allies. Did only one community vote for the Telangana Chief Minister? Mocking Hindu faith and traditions has become their routine.”
Gupta further stated that the way Revanth Reddy has made insulting and inappropriate comments about Hindu deities was completely unacceptable. “This is the same Chief Minister who proudly said during the Jubilee Hills election that ‘Congress means Muslims, and Muslims mean Congress’. Stand with any community if you wish, we have no objection but abusing Hindu deities will never be tolerated,” said Gaurav Gupta.
The BJP Spokesperson alleged that the Congress has normalised the mocking of Hindu beliefs and continues to trivialise the religious sentiments of the majority community. “This is not an isolated statement, it is a mindset,” he added.
Gupta also questioned the Congress leadership’s silence and asked that if the party disagrees with Reddy, why is there no action? “Their silence is not neutrality, it is endorsement,” he said and warned that any attempt to demean Hindu beliefs will be firmly rejected by the people. “Leaders in power must remember that political authority never grants the licence to insult the nation’s faith,” he said.
