Strengthen foundational learning: DSEK

SRINAGAR, Dec 12: Director School Education Kashmir (DSEK), Naseer Ahmad Wani, today emphasised the urgent need to strengthen foundational learning, directing officers to ensure that early-grade standards are met across all schools.
Wani issued these instructions while chairing a key review meeting here to assess the district’s overall educational status.
Highlighting the importance of early learning, he said, “Primary education is the backbone of our entire academic system. If we build strong foundations in the early grades, the outcomes at higher levels will automatically improve.”
The meeting was attended by Personnel Officer Dr. Iqbal Hussain Mir, Joint Director Muhammad Mushtaq, Chief Education Officer (CEO) Srinagar Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Bhat, and all Zonal Education Officers of the district.
During the meeting, CEO Srinagar briefed the Director on ongoing activities, administrative functioning, and the progress of various educational initiatives across the district.
Reiterating early-grade learning as a top priority, Wani directed officers to intensify efforts to improve foundational competencies and ensure that early learning benchmarks are met at every level.
He also asked officers to review preparations for the upcoming academic session and submit detailed reports to the Directorate through the respective CEOs.
