‘Tap Se Tyag Tak’ staged at Gurugram

GURUGRAM, Dec 13: To mark the sacred 350th Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, the RMK Arts & Research Foundation Jammu staged a poignant musical drama, “Tap Se Tyag Tak,”here.
Organized jointly by the Kashmiri Hindu Prakoshth, Haryana and Shri Vishwakarma Skill University, the event was presided over by Haryana Chief Minister, Nayab Singh Saini, with renowned Bollywood actor and Padma Bhushan awardee Anupam Kher as the chief guest.
The production, was conceptualized by Dr. Raj Nehru, OSD to the Chief Minister. Written and directed by the renowned actor/director, Vijay Dhar, the play chronicled the unshakeable devotion and supreme sacrifice of the Guru Teg Bhadur Ji for the protection of religious freedom and humanity. The soul-stirring music, background score, and sound design were composed personally by RMK president, Kuldeep Sapru.
Director, Vijay Dhar took on the role of the Sutradhar, weaving the story together. Key historical figures were portrayed by Jagdish Sagar (Pt. Kripa Ram), Jitender Jotshi (Aurangzeb), and senior journalist-actor. King C Bharati (Iftikhar Khan; the hardline religious persecutor of Kashmiri Pandits). The role of Bhai Mati Das was portrayed by Shammi Dhamir, while Vinay Pandita played Bhai Jeta Ji and Vinod Bushan enacted Kushal Singh Dahiya.
Supporting the leads were Rahul Pandita and Sahil Kumar as Sipahis, and Ajay Raina as the Sewadar. The roles of the ‘Pandit ladies’ were performed by Pummy Zutshi, Dazy Bajaj, Laxmi Devi, Simran Gurtoo, and Shriya Gurtoo, with Master Mithu appearing as the Pandit boy.
The visual experience was enhanced by digital sets and AI special effects created by Ravi Sharma of Dhanraj Studios, Jammu. Lighting supervision was handled by renowned actor Raj Kumar Bhat, with makeup by Shammi Dhamir. The musical elements featured lyrics by Shekhar Suman and choreography by Ajay Raina. Playback vocals were rendered by Suresh Chouhan, Simran, and Shriya Gurtoo.
Dr. Prabhleen Singh, OSD to the CM, delivered the welcome address. The event was attended by Haryana Industries and Commerce Minister, Rao Narbir Singh, Pataudi MLA, Bimla Chaudhary, Gurugram MLA, Mukesh Sharma and Media Advisor, Rajiv Jetley.
Academic leaders present included Prof. Dinesh Kumar (VC, Vishwakarma Skill University), Prof. Sanjay Kaushik (VC, Gurugram University), and Amit Arya (VC, Dada Lakhmi Chand State University).
