MOSCOW, Dec 14 : Russia’s Chief Rabbi Berel Lazar told Sputnik in an interview about his meetings and ongoing interactions with many members of US President Donald Trump’s inner circle.
“I have met and am currently communicating with many people from his Trump’s inner circle,” Lazar said.
The rabbi added that he was trying to convey to them “the spirit of Russia” and explain its differences from other countries.
“Sanctions, difficulties, and suffering won’t help. This is not the language one can use to talk to Russia. Sanctions don’t work with Russia. Quite the contrary. One must understand the spirit of the Russian citizen, then the spirit of Russia as a whole, and then one can sit down and talk,” Lazar said.
He noted that it was important to him that the United States understands this, and that he was trying to convey it to Trump’s inner circle.
