UDHAMPUR, Dec 17: In separate cases, Police arrested two drug peddlers and recovered 13.2 grams of heroin from their possession.
During routine checking at Jakhani naka, a police team intercepted a Swift car bearing registration number JK02AH-5207, which was coming from Udhampur towards Chenani. During personal search of the driver, 6.09 grams of heroin-like narcotic substance was recovered from the left front pocket of his shirt, following which, he was taken into custody.
The accused has been identified as Mohd Rafiq, son of Abdul Ghani of Latti, Dhuna, Tehsil Latti, District Udhampur.
Accordingly, FIR No. 422/2025 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at PS Udhampur and investigation has been taken up.
In another success , during routine traffic naka checking at Phalata NHW, Rehambal, police party intercepted an Alto K10 without registration number plate, coming from Jammu towards Udhampur. Two persons were found travelling in the vehicle. During the personal search of one person, 7.11 grams of heroin-like narcotic substance was recovered from the front right pocket of his trouser.
The accused has been identified as Nafi Nissar, son of Nissar Ahmad Sheikh of Aripora, Lasjan, Srinagar. In this connection, FIR No. 212/2025 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered and further investigation is in progress.
