Jammu, Dec 18: WCC Lolipora lifted the 6th edition of the Chinar Premier League (CPL) after defeating SKY Scrapers by six wickets in a thrilling final at the Country Cricket Stadium, Garoota, here today.
Batting first, SKY Scrapers posted 149 runs for the loss of seven wickets in their allotted 20 overs.
Sarsheel top-scored with 41 runs, while Irfan Mir contributed 30.
In reply, WCC Lolipora chased down the target in the 19th over, losing four wickets to clinch the title and emerge champions of the 6th CPL.
Nasir Bashir led the chase with a half-century, while Junaid Mushtaq (34) and Omais Itoo (30) also made valuable contributions.
Gowher, also known as “Leggy”, was declared Man of the Match for his impressive bowling spell, claiming three wickets in four overs.
The league was organised by MACC Kashmir and supported by AD Caps.
Following the successful conclusion of the tournament, Chief Manager and Patron Shabir Ahmad Shah congratulated the entire MACC family, including the organisers, team owners, ground staff, umpires, supporters and viewers.
He also specially acknowledged the efforts of Waseem Baba, Zahid Farooq and Manzoor Ahmad for their exceptional coordination and cooperation during the sixth edition of the league.
