3 J&K segment AGMUT cadre IPS officers promoted to IGP, 8 to DIGP grade

JAMMU, Dec 19: The Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, has approved the promotion of three Jammu and Kashmir segment AGMUT cadre IPS officers to the grade of Inspector General of Police, 8 to the grade of DIGP, besides granting Selection Grade to 9 and Junior Administrative Grade to 6 other IPS officers.

Separate orders issued in this context said all the officers have been promoted with effect from January 1, 2026 or from the date of assumption of charge, whichever is earlier.
As per an order, those promoted to IGP grade (Level 14 in the pay matrix) include Tejinder Singh, Abdul Jabbar and Udaybhaskar Billa.
While Tejinder Singh is currently posted as DIG Rajouri-Poonch, Abdul Jabbar and Udaybhaskar Billa, who are currently posted on Central deputation, have been granted proforma promotion.
Another order said those promoted to the DIGP grade (Level 13-A in the pay matrix) include Sargun Shukla, Sandeep Wazir, Anita Sharma, Jatinder Singh Johar, Swarn Singh Kotwal, Zahid Nasim Manhas and Dr Koushal Kumar Sharma, and Sandeep Choudhary.
Sargun Shukla is currently posted as CO IR-15th Battalion, Sandeep Wazir is AIG Personnel PHQ, Anita Sharma is CO IR-1st Battalion, Jatinder Singh Johar is Director Police Telecom, Jammu and Kashmir, Swarn Singh Kotwal is Director SSF J&K, Zahid Nasim Manhas is CO SDRF-2nd Battalion Jammu, Dr Koushal Kumar Sharma is SSP PCR Jammu, and Sandeep Choudhary, who has been granted proforma promotion is currently on Central deputation but posted in the region as SSP NIA.
Meanwhile, those granted Selection Grade (Level 13 in the pay matrix) include Ashish Kumar Mishra, Nagpure Amod Ashok, Gurinder Pal Singh, Altaf Ahmed Shah, Bakar Hussain Samoon, Ajaz Ahmad Bhat, Ranjit Singh Samyal, Mohammad Yaseen Kichloo, and Chandan Kohli.
While Ashish Kumar Mishra has been transferred to Delhi on September 9, 2024, Nagpure Amod Ashok is currently posted as SSP Udhampur, Gurinder Pal Singh is currently posted as SSP Baramulla, Altaf Ahmed Shah is currently on deputation to the UT of Ladakh, Bakar Hussain Samoon is posted as CO IR-23rd Battalion, Ajaz Ahmad Bhat is posted as SSP Traffic City Srinagar, Ranjit Singh Samyal is Principal PTTI Vijaypur, Mohammad Yaseen Kichloo is Principal STC Talwara, and Chandan Kohli, the former SSP Jammu, who has been granted proforma promotion, is currently on the Central deputation.
As per another order, those J&K segment AGMUT cadre IPS officers who have been granted the Junior Administrative Grade (JAG) are Bisma Qazi, Tanushree, Sahil Sarangal, Anayat Ali Choudhary, Nikhil Borkar, and Mohita Sharma.
Bisma Qazi is currently posted as CO 2nd Women Battalion, Tanushree is SSP Pulwama, Sahil Sarangal is SSP Handwara, Anayat Ali Choudhary is SSP Kulgam, Nikhil Borkar is SSP Budgam, and Mohita Sharma is SSP Kathua.
