Two inter-district drug peddlers held with heroin

UDHAMPUR, Dec 21: Udhampur Police, while performing traffic checking duty at Naka Point Jakheni, apprehended two inter-district drug peddlers and recovered 11.12 grams of heroin from their possession.
During checking of a Hyundai i10 car bearing registration number JK01M-2597, which was on way from Jammu towards Srinagar, the police party recovered 5.71 grams of heroin from possession of the driver namely Aquib Hamed son of Abdul Hamed Bhat, resident of Kak Sarai, Karan Nagar, Srinagar.
Further, during checking of the co-passenger namely Raqib Ahmed, son of Abdul Salam, resident of Buch Mohalla, MR Ganj, Srinagar, 5.41 grams of heroin was recovered from his personal possession. Thus, a total of 11.12 grams of heroin was recovered.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 426/2025 under Sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Udhampur and further investigation is underway.
